Those applicants who are approved through committee are scheduled for a meeting. The meeting is required to be held at the HELP office. This is important because historically those applicants who are willing to come in for a meeting are committed enough to enroll in the program. The typical HELP client is accustomed to renting and dealing with less than professional or courteous landlords. This meeting also serves to legitimize the program in the eyes of the client.

The meeting consists of an explanation of the program, its benefits, requirements and restrictions. Should the prospective client choose to do so, the contract would be signed committing to the program and abiding by its restrictions. Those applicants who sign the contract are then transitioned into the “Client” status and begin the process of eventual home ownership. For most, this meeting is a dream come true.
