Q: How did you get involved with The HELP Program?
We heard about the Help Program from a magazine ad. We also heard an ad on the radio. Therefore, we decided to call and find out what it was all about. We had many medical bills since we have two sons that are hearing-impaired. Our credit was not in the best shape. We really wanted to get into a house; it seemed such a waste to be renting. We had gone to several banks to see if we could qualify for a loan and they would tell us, “sure we can get you’re a loan”, but each time they would string us along then tell us, “Sorry we can’t help you”. It was very disappointing.
Q: Tell me about the process of finding a house and getting set up with the real estate agent?
When we had an interview with Todd, he said we were good candidates for the program. We wanted Todd to be really honest with us – and he was. He was also very positive and said it would be close to a year to fix our credit status. It turned out that it was one day short of a year.
Q: How effective do you feel The HELP Program has been thus far?
We love having our own home. We can paint or fix it the way we want to. We could not do that when we were renting. We have told many people about the program and how fast and easy it was to finally get into a home of our own. If bad credit is standing in your way of getting into a home, call Todd at the Help Program. He will tell you right up front if he thinks the program will work for you.
Q: What do you like best so far about your experience with HELP?
We were thrilled to be getting help to own a home. It was very easy. We did not really have to do a lot. The real estate person helped us find a house we could afford. We paid monthly rent until our credit was good, then we were able to get a mortgage on our own.
Q: If you had a friend thinking about going through HELP, what would you tell him or her?
We have told many people about the program and how fast and easy it was to finally get into a home of our own. If bad credit is standing in your way of getting into a home, call Todd at the Help Program. He will tell you right up front if he thinks the program will work for you.
We are very happy that we called it has changed our lives.
