World Center for Birds of Prey

The World Center for Birds of Prey, located in Boise Idaho, is known through out the globe for its conservation and recovery efforts of several rare and endangered species. Thanks largely to their efforts and skilled staff the Peregrine falcon now has a fighting chance at survival and is one of only a small handful of species that have been removed from the Endangered Species list.

Morley Nelson was largely responsible for bringing the World Center for Birds of Prey to Boise.

The Center was a key part of the re-establishment of the Peregrine falcon and the subsequent removal from the Endangered Species list. The WCBP is currently breeding the very rare California condor, among many other rare and endangered species.
The Velma Morrison Interpretive Center, located at the southernmost end of Cole Road, provides an opportunity to learn about the center and also about many of the birds they are currently breeding. They have many birds on exhibit including condors, falcons, vultures and eagles.
